The Upcoming Bash

Filed under: Day to Day — heeren84 @ 10:24 am

CS bash this Friday. The event be kicking off @ 6.30 pm. The only bad thing is I’ll be working till 10pm. Still, that’s not the end of the world yet. There’s going to be a lucky draw, which is scheduled to start @ 11pm. I so want to win that notebook or digital camera.

I was asking Sharon to take a photo of me holding my CS Bash lucky draw ticket, and Genki sort of reminded me, “You know? That time when you took a picture holding that lottery ticket, and you didn’t win the $2.2 million?”

That fucker! Thanks for the so-needed reminder!

11pm…That’s enough time for me to travel from Jurong East to the Hard Rock Cafe. You know? Somewhere around Forum? I told most of my colleagues , “And I better WIN something!”

The winner must be there to receive the top 10 prizes. That’s why!

Theme for the bash -> Going back to School!

Together with Ashley and my Manager, Vivien, we had so much fun reminiscing the good old fun days. Those days where Ah Bengs and Ah Lians rule the school and those neighbourhood shopping centers which are situated near the school. My discipline master and principal even formed a patrolling team can? They would patrolled those shopping centers on alternate days, just to make sure that students go home straight after school and not loitering around with their uniform ‘tucked-out’.

Back in those days, a typical Ah Beng’s hairstyle is center-parting. That changed to Armani in 1999?  A pager is a must have. And no matter how many time their sharp pointed comb is being confiscated, they will just turn up in school with a new one the next day. I wonder who the hell started the tradition of carrying a JPG long wallet. The one with a dragon imprinted on it!

An Ah Lian? They make it a point to keep the length of their skirt way above the knee and is constantly playing the game of hide and seek with a) the Principal, b) H.O.D of Humanities or c) a Miss-blah blah who’s in their early 40s. Cause once being caught, they will have to show up with below-knee length skirt the next day. The worst thing is they have to survive a sermon first.

The only other place where they spent most of their time in, other than classroom, is the toilet. I think the norm is between 10~15 minutes. Recess time is the most exciting. You will always see a group of Ah Lians and those Wanna-bes marching into the toilet, and re-emerging with their fringes WET. I think someone told me once that it’s like watching a group of cockroaches crawling, in their case, walking around. Haha… A good Lian friend of mine, had 8 fringes. 4 on each side! I think the message is, the more you have, the chio-er you are.

Ming Yong once told me that Ah Lians are the prettiest, as they make it a point to look pretty, provided they didn’t open their mouth.

Chantel Thomas, Valentino Sonia Rykiel… are those IT brands of those days. The cheaper, yet classy, alternative was an Outdoor bag. Almost everyone, I STRESS, EVERYONE, had one. Those who don’t have it belongs to the CONVERSE or UMBRO group. Lim peh carried a hand me down by my brother and after that upgraded to a Converse before switching to Fila or Puma, a birthday gift by a group of classmate.

Ash and I were laughing our ass off when Vivien told us how she would starved herself through recess time, just to save enough money for those Hush Puppies socks! Muahahahah…

This CS bash is going to be fun! Hopefully they will play songs from our era…

Ai Yar E Yar E Yar, Ai Yar E Yar E Yar, Ai Yar E Yar E Yar, Where’s my Samurai?
