Anyway I won $77 from mahjong yesterday. Yingmei’s $40 base chips were dried up (by me ) and both Xiao Ge and Sharon gave me $37. I’m the only winner. MUAHAHAHA… Anyway, I treated them to supper after that. Shoot! I have this crave for Hor Fun, sadly, it was sold out. Had to make do with Hokkien Mee and Salted Fish Fried Rice.

It was supposed to be a Indoor BBQ yesterday. We decided to call it off, as there were only the 4 of us.

BTW, Watson is selling my latest addiction, Toblerone, for only $1 and a box of 30 pieces of Ferrero Rocher is only $11.90, cheaper than Sheng Siong.

… Can someone just tell me that I’m not an auntie, going from shops to shops to check out the latest bargain?

Anyway, it’s back to Sharon’s place again this evening, for potluck dinner. The numbers be there this time round.

Ashley was telling me that since we had already went for a Mambo Night, it’s time to go for a R and B night. She’s very on. A date was immediately set. As usual, if the others were to turn up, it shall be a bonus, else both of us will still go anyway.

She managed to get another colleague, Khay, to join us. I tried to get Ming Jin, who had ( again ) ‘retired’ himself from the clubbing scene, asking me to ‘fuck off’ in a very nice way. Haha… Thankfully, Ming Yong said Yes.

Ivy, Carmen and Francis were supposed to join us, but Francis ha K.O in a Pub @ Tanjong Pagar. Both Carmen and Ivy had to call it a night, to send him home.

Still that night was fun.

Have to give it to Khay. She was the one who took the pictures, and sort of organised and edited  it. Upon reaching, we ordered 1 jug of Lychee Martini, 2 jugs of Vodka with Red Bull and my all time favorite Deep Purple.

As usual, I decided not to waste time and bought a tray of 15 shots~

M.Y made Khay’s night, when he told her that she’s 25. Khay’s is, in fact, older than that and is a happy mother of 3 kids. Wonder what has she been feeding herself with, to look that young.

To side track a little, when I first joined Cluster B, I don’t really dare to approach her. She has this very stern and serious look when she’s not smiling, and that scares the shit out of people. Ashley shared the same view. After you get to know her, you will learn that, she’s the exact opposite. Very fun-loving. I was shocked to learn that it’s a) her first time in Double O and b) her 3rd time to go Mohammed Sultan (where Dbl O is at )

The gals excused themselves and went for a toilet break. During this period of time, I tried to cajole M.Y to have 3 Tequila Pop each. However, he rejected the idea, saying that he ‘buay zhai’ already. He did, eventually, agreed to go for a 4-2 though. Just as I was finishing the 3rd one, the gals came back. Ashley helped to finished off the 4th glass. Haha…

And she went to get another round of shots. She bought 12 of ‘em. -_-”

Cam-Whoring~ Ashley had ran out of fags. Khay managed to get her a pack @ the bar. Lolz…

With M.Y… Too bad, M.J didn’t joined us. Of all the Medic Pals which I’d made during Modified Spec course, the 3 of us are usually the one who meet up.

With Ashley… Sometimes, you just can’t explain ‘friendship’. You can know this particular person for years, yet he/she isn’t in your good friend list. I only knew Ashley for less than a year but we managed to hit it off. Haha… She’s good at listening, good @ bitching and is definitely a VERY good chiong-buddy.

Another good friend, Cuiling, used to be my chiong buddy, but she’s currently attached. Priorities sort of ermm, changed. Haha… And no, I’m not complaining. If she’s happy, I’m happy for her =)

The only disappointment of the night? If only Double O is open till 5 am… Both Ashley and my shift end @ 1230am. Khay’s ended @ 11pm, but she waited for us to go together. Because M.Y ’s living nearby, therefore we gave him a lift via CAB. Reached @ around 1 am. We drank, dance, cam-whore, and even more drinks… till they closed @ 3am…

Woo~ so over the moon. Shirmaine just called to asked when will my house be available for a Poly-friends gathering. Ermmm I don’t know if it’s a coincidenceor what. I’m listening to J.Lo’s If You’ve My Love, taken from her debut album ‘On the 6′, as I’m writing this.

Anyway, I told her I’ll be free on the 6. Haha… see what I meant by coincidence.

If people are coming over to my home, it also means that I’ll need to start cleaning and mopping, which in this case, I can’t do either. As according to the CNY rule, it’s kinda of taboo to clean between Chu Yi to Shi Wu ( Day 1 to 15 of the Lunar Calendar). Speaking about hygiene -_-”

She, at the same time, sidetracked that she’s VERY unhappy that I ‘ignored’ (didn’t get back to her on time ) her the other day. Saying that she really needed to talk to me ( I seriously, didn’t remember signing up as her boyfriend ) I almost started the whole, ‘but I’m not your BF’ shit, but I figured that in terms of reasoning, I would be trashed. HARD. Because even if you have a hundred and one reason for your ‘lack of’, girls seem to have the extra one reason to make you shut up.

Apparently, Shirmaine’s sister, Shirlene, is back in town for the CNY period. While catching up with each other through the phone the other day, she told me that she had forgotten what is a curfew, till her sister ‘ reminded’ her.

She was supposed to be out celebrating one of her gals, Angelyn’, birthday. And her sister told her to be back by one. -_____-

I was kinda shocked by that but was laughing my ass off when she told me that she had to break the news to her gals, telling them that ‘Lao Fuo Ye ‘ ( Her Empress Dowager) is back. Haha…

And it’s the 3rd day…

Went to Siam Paragon, Central and back to MBK. I didn’t get anything from Siam Paragon and Central. The things are very expensive. If I’m going to get anything from there, might as well get if from Takashimaya in Singapore.

Drop by Starbucks to grab a cup of coffee, to kick start the long day ahead. I ordered an Ice-blended Mocha, extra shot and blended with chocolate chips. IT WAS VERY NICE~ I never had that in Singapore before, because the cashier will only ask, ‘with whipped cream?’ over here. However, over there in Thailand, they asked me whether would I like go an an extra shot and add in chocolate chips.

This Christmas Decoration was actually found inside Siam Paragon. Even it was like already 2 weeks way past X-mas ‘08, I could still feel the festival season in the air.

There was a Chocolate Display. I thought the Ritter Sports display is kinda awesome…

Saw this display at the entrance of CENTRAL. It was dead embarrassing, trying to pose ( to nail the perfect shot ) in front of the ongoing crowd (I mean, we aren’t even models to begin with) Well, I’m quite happy with this shot. Haha..

After days of trying out how does the fast food, food, in other country taste like, we decided to pamper ourselves with something decent for dinner. At least, something Thailand. This dish is unique. From the look of it, you can already tell that it’s fish, just that, it’s served in a plate which also looks like a fish… haha

Damages from the trip. HAHA! Genki said that I’m an impulsive buyer. How not to be one? When everything is like so cheap over there. I shall correct myself, not only cheap but interesting at the same time.

I might just make it an annual affair to go Thailand, just to stock up my pathetic wardrobe.

Waiting for the train to Cha Tu Chak. As the brochure read, ‘..is one of the largest flea market in Bangkok and in the world’. I was thinking, ‘Just how big can it be?’

… It was not only big, it was freaking gi-normous.

This is just a rough outlook. I can’t capture the whole market into the picture. I can safetly say that it’s 10 times (or even more ) bigger than the shops in Bugis.

If you see something that you like, it’s best to get it immediately, chances of seeing the same piece in the next shop is very low. And to find your way back to the shop again is going to be very tedious. I saw 2 T-shirts which I liked a lot, thinking that I can get a better deal at the next shop, I’ let it go’. I never did see the exact same piece again. Darn!

We didn’t managed to cover all the shops. Did we even hit a quarter of it at all? To make things worse, I had a stomach upset! Had to find a toilet to ’spray’ ( Yes! It’s those liquid kind ) it out. Totally spoiled my shopping mood. Thankfully, before that, I’d already bought lots of things.

We went back to hotel to dump our purchase before going to Pantip Plaza  for dinner. We settled down in A&W, which is extinct in Singapore already. Haha… My earliest memory was buying a large packet of Curly Fries during a Zoological Garden Trip when I was in Primary School. That’s like close to 15 years ago *gasp*

After that, A&W just wasn’t my choice of food. I mean, in terms of chicken, KFC still wins overall. I can easily make an Ice Cream Root Beer Float at home. Their only attraction is the Waffle, I guess~

Ta Dah~ This, however, failed to trigger any special childhood memory for me. It’s the curly fries, not this. Haha… Still, after all these years, it’s good to have it again~

After dinner, we went for a foot massage across the road. My first foot massage. So~So only. Still, it’s good to pamper your foot after a long day of walking.

We went back to the hotel to shower and change. The plan was to go catch Thai Girl/Ping Pong show next.

We were being ‘tok’. Once we reached the flea market in Patpong, a guy who’s holding onto a flyer, asked us whether will we be interested to catch the show. Only need to pay $100 baht for a drink, and there’s no cover charge. It’s a steal, isn’t it? Therefore, we went, we saw and we got ‘tok’. We had to cough up close to $1400 baht per person. -_-

As spoken with Gim Li, we sort of spent this money,  on 2 valuable lessons in a way. Firstly, there’s no free lunch in the world and secondly, in times of need, you’ll know who you can really trust.

Still, it’s a once in a lifetime experience. The show was very digusting and at the same time, disturbing. I mean, it’s really very sad. Those women had to do circus act with their vaginals just to earn a living. One of them can ‘pop’ open a bottle of tightly sealed soda. The other pulled out a long string of needles from inside there. Another one  inserted ping pong balls into it, and started to pop them out. Before that, the emcee had already handed a ping pong bat to Genki , who gamely wacked the balls away when it came, flying at his direction. *erlack*

The most amazing one was when one inserted a tube into there and started to blow out the candles, one by one, on a birthday cake. Oh My F* God~

Our mood was kinda spoiled after that, we went to Burger King. No pictures as don’t have the mood to Cam-whore~

End of Day 2~

After a million years, we finally landed. In one piece *heng*

The airport. Still find it hard to believe that it was being surrounded by protestors just last December. Everything seems peaceful.

We shared a mini-bus to the hotel. Quite cheap, only $200 Baht per head. There were 6 of us, squeezing into a cab is impossible. A 3-3 is also quite hard, as Keith is the only one who had been there. I did once, but that was some 12 years ago?

A Louis Vuitton Boutique. Somehow, I feel that the design of the boutique is better as compare to the one in Takashimaya.

Waiting to check into the hotel. The 4 of us shared a service apartment sort of room, while the couple bunked into a twin-sharing. If you full-balst the air-con in the room, it’ll be South Pole.

Our first stop is at Ma Boon Krong, for dinner and of course, shopping.

Now, we don’t have that in Singapore! Dunkin’ Donuts.

By the time we were out of there, the sun had already set.

I love the Mr Jihad T-shirt can? Lolz… I tried to see if it’s fit before purchasing and ended up wearing it immediately.

That X-mas tree is made from Compact Disces. Apparently, they are having a Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Campaign. A few steps down the road, there’s another one made from Coca Cola drink cans. It’s not as beatiful as this one, so I didn’t bother to take a picture. Haha…

A shop till you drop trip! To the Land of SMilEs, via a 4 cents ( excluding tax blah blah) aeroplane ride. Budget Airway~

That’s all I had with me! All dumped into that CK bag. Confession, it’s not mine! Belongs to my brother. Moment of truth, he didn’t bought it! Gotten it for free when he purchase one of their perfume gift set~

Initial plan to have our breakfast @ Popeye Chicken was foiled. It opens only @ 11am. And I always thought that the restaurant in the airport will be open 24/7.

Good Old Burger King was closed for renovation! Yes! That’s how very SUAY we were! When all fails, it’s time to ‘return to your roots’. Killiney Kopitiam breakfast set, which consists of 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 miserable slice of Kaya+Butter toast and a cup of hot beverage.

My~ I forget to mention that because it’s too early to check in, therefore we go all the way to T1 for… don’t start me with Popeye’s Chicken AGAIN -_- And after a series of unfortunate event, we headed back to Budget Terminal~

Watched from the movies that people who owned private jet/planes will have to walk there by themselves, or arrive in a lumo at the bottom of the flight of steps. So this is how it feels like…

HOT! The sun was scorching hot. To make it worse, people are taking their own sweet time to climb up the stairs. Sometimes I just wonder what’s going own in their head. If you get into the plane quick, you will get the enjoy the air-con even faster. Climbing slowly and cursing the weather under your breath isn’t going to make the day any cooler -_-” Like I say, PEOPLE~ haha

The seats very cramped. Well, when you pay for cheap, or in nicer terms, budget service, this is the kind of standards you will get. A bottle of mineral water costs as much as a plate of chicken rice. Don’t even get me started on the Nissin Cup Noodles…

Ashley and I had planned this trip since, ever-since. Both of us are mambo-siao. We loved hits from the 80s, ranging from Square Room to Together in Electric Dreams.

Initially, it’s just the 2 of us going. However, after asking around, we managed to gather the usual few to go.

Ta-dah~ Again! All from Cluster B, except Andrew’s girlfriend, who isn’t working in M1.

Ashley, Sin Jian and I reached first. The 3 of us finished work earlier. The rest followed suit @ 1am, after knocking off @ 1230am.

And I bumped into Liling! What a small world!

As usual, when I asked her how’s she getting on, she told me that she had just been dumped by yet, another guy. This time round, it’s a model. I asked for the name, but sadly, I never heard before.

Since Liling is considered a good friend, I introduced her to Ashley and at the same time informed her that, she had just been dumped. To my horror, Ashley asked her, “Do you need a hug?” And like those moments in ‘Days of our Lives’, that 2 gal hugged each other. The only difference is there was no tears involved.

… Thankfully there wasn’t! The last thing I really need is to console a sobbing, heart broken friend on a Mambo Night… haha…

Other than Keith, the rest of us have to survive in this world wearing glasses. Before heading for home to change, Natalie warned me not to change to my contacts. Therefore, we made it a Geek night. Haha…

This is a late post as Ashley uploaded the pictures late. Anyway, we didn’t take a lot of pictures that day. Some of us, together with some of the ex-M1 staffs, went to one of the steamboat shop in Bugis for a pre-Chinese New Year Gathering, organised by Ashley.

All of us, even those ex-staffs, were all from Cluster B. So, it was a purely Cluster B night. Haha… The turn out was very good. We occupied 2 tables, had a great feast ( It was a buffet without abalone haha ), the old staffs do a bit of catching up with one another, while the new staffs were being introduced to the ex-staffs.

This shot was taken just as I was taking my desktop calendar out of my bag. Ashley and I were trying to schedule a clubbing night ( I think), so I took it out for reference. The others laughed themselves silly. Apparently, I’m the only one who bring a calender, THE calender, with me.

Lisa roped in my help to help her secure a Jurong Bird Park Pass at work today. I’d helped Paris with a Zoological Garden Pass a few weeks back, therefore I told Lisa that I don’t think I’ll be able to help her as the timeframe is one pass/3 months. She came out with this crap hopeful logic that maybe the system will do a reset as it’s Year 2009. I did raised a questioning eyebrow. But what to do? She has been a very great superior to me, one way or another, it won’t hurt to try. Haha…

… Sadly, we failed to outsmart the system. I copied and paste the failed message and send her an email to inform her, and ask her at the same time, to get other people to help her. She replied. ‘Sigh, never mind, it’s okay, don’t want to trouble other people!’

In less then 10 minutes, she called me and said, “Kee Lin, I’ve a confession to make!”

“What?” I asked.

… Turned out, she had managed to book one using her name. Haha… And reason for not using her’s in the first place is coz she wants to save her chance for rainy days.

2 days ago, when she approached me for help, I did asked her why will she want to go through the hog when she can easily buy the tickets. Her reason was that the tickets are damn expensive. I then reminded her that she’s the one who’s wearing a Rolex and a big diamond ring. I mean, Har-lo? Speaking of hard times?

She told me ‘It’s a fake one ( refering to her Rolex )’ and turned her back on me. Lolz… Happy days~

One of my oldest pal called for a chat. She informed me that she and her boyfriend of 8 years is going through a cold period. The initial passion wasn’t there anymore.

Still trying to come out with day to meet up with her for a chat over coffee. Had been a long time since the both of us really go about doing that… I can’t even remember when was the last time we hanged out, just only the 2 of us.

Whatever the case is, I wish you all the best and stay cheerful, my friend. I love you

This entry should be about the trip to Thailand, however I shall put that on hold first.

Received SHOCKING news from my manager that I’ll be transferred to another department. On the bright side, it’s going to be a totally new enviroment not to mention, the challenge. Thankfully, Ashley be going with me too, togehter with 3 other colleague from Cluster C.

After which, the Ops Manager pulled me out for a chat, informing me that there’s no time frame in which I’ll be staying there. It’s as good as stayiong there for good.

Lisa tried to console me by saying that I’ll be able to get more weekend off as there’s not much call on weekend coming into that department, however I reminded her that I’m SINGLE and I don’t really need that.

Still, haha… Suck it up and live with it…

Anwyay, right after work, a whole group of us went out for steamboat @ Bugis, was it the Tien Tien Steamboat? Some of the ex-cluster B staffs went too.

The food is not that great, but the company was there. It’s one of those things whereby we should try to make it a monthly affair.

I shall make my some resolution for the Year 2009.

1) Cut down my weight to the ideal 74 Kg

2) Make the effort to meet up with my very close pals (which Shirmaine, sadly, you aren’t included

3) 2 more overseas trips…

4) Pick up at least 3 new skills by year end

5) Start my degree? Hopefully…

6) Be more green, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…

It’s going to be kinda hard to leave Cluster B…

If I ain’t wrong, we had sort of made a pact once, to make it a monthly affair to meet up for a drink. However, after meeting up that day, both Maine and I were shocked to learn that the last time which we were there was actually on my birthday. Which is like 3 month close to 4.

As usual, I was early and they were late. Old habits just don’t die… HAHA. Just a side note, Shirmaine  had warned me not to be late. THIS, despite her being late, herself.

Chatting with Ivy via email. She was telling me that she’s going to get new clothing’s and ‘Quick! Ask me WHY!’

And I wrote, ‘Why!’

She replied, ‘It’s because I got a new TATU~’

And it’s her second one. I must really give it to her. Till today, none of her family members know that she went to get tattoo done. Not one, but two. *Gasp*

She said that it’s one of the happiest thing which had happened to her for this year, and that it’s the only thing which she had spent her bonus on. I said with a hint of sarcasm that she should just tattoo on her ‘My 3rd LV’, to make up for not buying one this year.

Yes! She’d got 2 under her name, which she explained and gave me a very clear picture on how she used the cost and divided it by the number of days ( as in it’s durability ). And she come with the figure, ‘It’s less than $1 a day!’

This goes to shows that woman are born calculative.

I’ve to admit that she does really make sense.

Service Level was damn good today. It’s one of those rare days whereby the group of us get to chat for quite awhile, in between, waiting for the next call to come in.

3 more days to my vacation/get-a-way to Thailand, and I haven’t changed Thai Bahts yet.

And this trip marks my first ‘purely’ shopping trip. Or shall I say shop till you drop. Haha… Maine called me up 2 days back and say that I should change location as Bangkok is in a mess now.

I was like, ‘How to?’ The ticket and hotel rooms were booked and paid for already. I told her that should anythig happen to me, she can come and cry at my funeral. And that I don’t want it to be a sad affair, there should be retro and R&B music playing. She said, “I will try!”

Thailand~ Here I come~

Just finished watching Resident Evil: Degeneration.

It features both my favourite protagonists, Leong S.Kennedy and Claire Redfield, from Resident Evil 2. I played the game back in 1998, and now it’s already year 2009.

It’s quite a thrill to see old faces again. I truly enjoyed the 90+ mins of action. Good to see the both of them working together again. Unlike the good old days, they didn’t killed the ‘final boss’ with that Rocket Launcher. lolz…

Not much display in the ‘weapons department’. Didn’t really see the shotgun which will blow the guts out of the zombies and the formidable Magnum which will guarantee a sure hit head shot.

Thankfully, this is made into a film instead of the usual Role Playing Game. I think I’m getting kind of old for RPG games. The last one which I had actually completed was Obscure and that was like during Poly?

After that, I didn’t have the discipline to complete what I’d started. I’d read that the new Resident Evil 5 be out soon, featuring the main protagonist, Chris Redfield (Claire’s elder brother)  from Resident Evil 1.

Though I’m excited about it, but like I say, I’m getting too old for it… 

This was a ‘mistake’ purchase.

I was looking around for an X-mas gift for Shirmaine, and I saw one of the things in Shirmaine’s ‘I will confirm scream when I see it’ list. It was Lee Hom’s latest album pre-launch sale.

Since it’s a pre-launch, I’d to fill up this voucher and go back for collection when the real thing is out. I gave her a call to get her NRIC number, only to hear, ‘NO! Don’t buy it! I’d already bought it!’

I was already at the point of no return ( had written her NRIC on the voucher ), die-die have to buy it.

And yes! I’d already collected the CD. It’s still lying in a corner somewhere, unopened.

The funniest thing was when Maine rang me up the next day to inform me that her BF, Desmond and bought her the exact same thing. Haha…

I’m not alone lolz

Going out wasn’t part of the plan. The original one was to slack at home, sip a cup of hot green tea, read my books/magazines and go to bed early as shift be starting at 8 a.m the next day.

Pat called to go clubbing @ Double O. I can seriously call it my ‘2nd Home’ as I’d just been there last Wednesday, on X-max eve and most importantly for Ming Yong’s birthday celebration.

Still, meeting up with Secondary School friends and ushering the New Year in is not like an everday thing. Which explained why I turned up.

A bit of a cam-whoring while making our way there. Pat, Lyn and I met up in Clarke Quay first. The gals wanted o go Rabitt Hole to give it a shot, but feared that it’ll be dead boring. Sometimes, it’s just wise to be less adventerous and stick to the usual.

Cuiling and her boyfriend, Wei Ming. As usual, queue to Double O was long. We entered via O Bar, only to see a empty dance floor greeting us in return. I still don’t understand why does people choose to join in the long queue and go in via Double O, when once you get the chop to enter ‘O’ bar, THAT very same chop can gain you entry into Double O.

Chilling in O Bar and playing card games. Had I mentioned? While walking past the bridge ( and cam-whoring), both Pat and Lyn stepped onto dog’s shit. I was laughing out loud when walking down the steps and FUCK! I sprained my ankle.
