Shirmaine told me that she saw her ex in town the other day, with a new girlfriend.
“So did you go up and say hi?” I asked the obvious.
“No! I was going up the escalator and he was going down!” She explained.
“Are you alone then?”
“…Yar..”
“And are you being your fugly self? Wearing Specs?”
“…Yes…”
“No wonder! If you were with Desmond, it would be a different story! You will make sure that ‘he see you’!” I said.
The 4 of us are finally out into the sea. somehow, we managed to end up in the same cluster, just that we work different shift. The new Team Manager is nice, or rather, she seems nice. I hope that it won’t be those kind of ’smile at you first then you die later’ sort of nice.
Just a few hours in the new cluster and mails of welcome are sent to my email. Frankly speaking, it’s a very nice working environment, as compared to my then Toys promoter job. I can’t even remember how I managed to survive through that cheap paying job back in yester-years.
There had been a change of plan. Rac had decided to take back her letter of resignation. I wonder what become of her. She’s like alone the whole day, doing her own things. Early morning waiting for the shuttle at the desinated spot, she didn’t even bother to walk up to us and say Hi. We are all feeling kinda sick of having to ‘get her into the correct mood’.
A mail of OT has had also been sent out. I need to start plotting my OT to earn extra bucks.
I watched this show with Fay and Genki back then. It was at Jurong Point GV and I’d the movie vouchers. It was also the time whereby Breadtalk is the IT thing. Fay bought a few buns and offered them to us. I can’t remember whether I ate them or not.
I was on afternoon shift last week and happened to reach Jurong East quite early. To kill time, I went to my favorite hunt, Cash Converter, to see if there’s any good catch. THERE IS! Movie VCDs going for $2. I will be doing myself wrong if I didn’t get any.
Ended up, I left the shop with ‘Coyote Ugly’, ‘Scream 2′ and ‘Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within’. It was kind of nostalgic to watch these movies again. Kinda bring back fond memories.
The food in the cafeteria SUCKS. The so-called Seafood Fried Rice consists of only a prawn (I wonder is it even fresh) and a small slice of sotong. Thankfully, I’m not one of those Prima-Donna or spoilt brat who only shove A grade food into their mouth. I’m practically an anything. As long as it can satisfy my hunger, I’m okay. Howver, it cost $3.50! *Heart Pain*
Cuiling was complaining to me that a bowl of Wanton Noodle with miserable contents cost $3.50. I quoted the above example to her and told her to ‘tell me about it’.
Jia Yun and I shared similar schedule. Chances of us posting to the same cluster is very high. I did a rough scan through yesterday and WHAM! I’m only able to go for Mambo Night on one of the Wednesday. I sms-ed Cuiling who gave me other options a) Butter Factory or b) O bar,on Saturday. I’m still thinking.
That newly attached gal told me the other night that her boyfriend be banning her from wearing revealing clothing (eg tube top). I warned her, “First, it’s the revealing clothing! Then it’s the cannot go chiong! Followed by the, be home by 10pm!” And at the same time, I congratulate her for stepping into the relationship grave.
BUT, revealing tops happens to be her all time favorite. I suggested to her that she should tell her BF that she’s practically an airport, as a last ditch effort. She said, “Darling KL! I’m not an airport!”
My awfully quiet colleague, Rac, had tendered yesterday. And that makes her the first to leave our training batch. She was extremely reserved. While walking towards the elevator together, I noticed that she looks rather off. That’s where I asked her and got to know it all. No much ‘explanation’ given. Like Jason who likes to say ‘Because of Medical Reason’ when asked why was he exempted from NS, Rac replied, “Admin” , when asked what will she be doing in her new workplace.
Worse! Julia asked her where she be working at. She brushed her off with, “Terminal 3!” And Terminal 3 is like so huge loh!
Yesterday was the last day of Fish-tank Training. Coming Monday, we’ll be posting to Cluster. I was quite lucky to be able to work OT on Friday and Saturday. My TM approached me to tell me that she’s rather happy with my ‘productivity’ level and that they need help. I agreed immediately. Same goes for Julia, Nat and Jia Yun. As usual, Jason switched into his secrecy mode and rejected the offer.
I almost died yesterday. On Friday, Rebbecca told us that call center won’t be that hectic on weekends morning as people are still in bed. However, when I stepped into office, turned my head to take a look at the Stats Screen. I was shocked to see 14 people on the holding list. OMG!
The calls just keep coming and coming. I sent a sms of complain to Cuiling, ‘It’s a Saturday! Why are people calling in! Shouldn’t they be out in Orchard or something?”
The time passed extremely fast when you are doing OT. The times 1.5 rate per hour is such a good catch. We were saying that we don’t even mind letting customers scold. They can shout at us for all they want. We are the one with the money in the end. Haha…
Cuiling informed me via sms that she had received a box of Godiva from her boyfriend (Yes! She’s officially attached). For the benefits of those who don’t know, Godiva is actually a brand of chocolate, which is by the way very expensive. She also told me that all she did was took a picture of it and stored it in the fridge.
I didn’t asked why. However, I felt obligated to tell her that her box of precious choclate might end up in her younger bro’s tummy. It had happened before, and if I remembered correctly, it was Ferror Rocher then. A gift from her ex. She told me that she had already issued a warning to her bro, ‘to leave it alone’.
Am so happy for her that she’s attached! Haha…
Army Half Marathon is up for registration, 21km. Another running event whch I’m looking forward to. The goodie bag is not that attractive though. Basket!
I haven’t seen Maine in a long time. Wonder how her double chin is growing! I’d jio-ed her out for dinner, however she won’t be available till next Thursday as her sister would be leaving for Germany on Monday. Meaning she will be staying at home to keep her sis accompany.
I gave her 2 choices. A) to go retro and have KFC or b) to go Pastamania for pasta. She chose the latter. Woohoo~~
Just yesterday, she asked me whether should she go dye her hair. I told her that since she’s in event, she should go for it. She replied me, ‘That means I can’t have my long black hair anymore!’
-_-” I almost had her murdered. I told her that there’s something call a black dye and in another 10 years, her hair would be grey anyway!
I think she’s still thinking of to do or not do it.
Li had rented a chalet through a lucky round of ballot in her company. And if I’m not wrong, it’s only $15 for the whole of 4 day 3 nights rental.
A couple of hiccups along the way, but we managed to resolved it as the ultimate aim was to have fun during the long weekend. When I asked her what time can we check in, she told me confidently, “Anytime!” We later found out at the front of the check in counter that her ‘Anytime’ meant 4pm.
We had to re-route to Small Uncle’s home to chill. Thankfully, we haven’t bought the food, else I would be cursing and swearing. It was only around 1 pm then. We spent the afternoon, playing card games.
Around 3 odds to 4, I received a call from my brother asking my wherabouts. He had, to my surprise, reached Downtown East already. We quickly took a cab down to check in. My insides took a dive when I heard that he was waiting at the lobby. Is he even at the right place? -_-” He and a few others were actually waiting at Costa Sands Resort, the chalet behind Downtown East and nearer to the beach.
*Faint*
Other then that, the rest of the 2 days ( checked out today), passed by peacefully. Together with 3rd Aunt, 8th Uncle and Small Uncle, we played mahjong throughout Friday Night at Small Uncle’s home. Why not at the Chalet you ask? It’s too small and also if the noise level gets too high, the security guard will come knocking at you door.
At around 6 am on Saturday, we end the game of mahjong to catch some sleep. After 3 hrs into my sleep, I was rudely woke up by Ian boy. THAT’s after his 3rd attempt of trying to wake me up. First, he did the usual shouting and screaming around the area when Hiang and I were sleeping. Next, he poked my eyes. I continued to sleep as I was too shagged. Then, he started to kick my face with his little feet. I had to wake up. Unless you are dead, else you can’t sleep under those conditions -_-”
The full-time team merged with the part-time team yesterday. It was our first time doing the afternoon 1500~0030 shift. Saw 5 new faces. Initially, I thought that AJ is a guy. I even gave him a kangaroo on spotlight look when the other part-timers called her a ’she’. It was then I realised that she’s actually in mens clothing (i.e. a butch). Their Team Manage, Eddie, even made a joke out of it, telling her to carry a handbag and wear a skirt.
So far, so good. It’s so much fun working in M1. I think it’s those un-gracious/cheapskate/rude customers who make our day bad. I’d 2 long calls yesterday, duration of 20 minutes each. It had been a long time since I’d last engaged in such a long conversation over the telephone. And somemore the person at the other end, is not even a close friend.
I don’t mind working the afternoon shift. The calls are more interesting, which means I get to learn more. There’s extra allowance, and taxi fare is on the house.
I logged onto MSN when I reached home. Saw Cuiling and sent her the following, ‘ Yo Yo! Still awake!’
She replied, ‘You are still alive?’
Though she mentioned something about trying to balance the trial ( She’s an accountant), however my 6th sense tells me that she’s talking to Weiming. Bingo! She confessed that he had just gone to bed. Haha…
Cuiling updated me about her latest crush while driving to Mark’s home the other day. She said that he will always send her a message in the morning and all. I told her that I can send her one if she wish. Without even thinking, she rejected my kind offer brutally , saying, “It’s different!”
I also asked her how does he look like. Turned out, he’s also a fellow Tanglinian by an age gap of 2 years. Out of curiosity, I flipped through my yearbook.
… Ta dah! What a small world! We lived in the same block when I was still staying in Pandan Gardens. If I’m not wrong, my mum knows his mum. Like woah!!!
I heard from MJ that a fellow BMT course-mate had went bonkers and was seen in the SAF Ward. Apparently, she and my Company best sort of got together, which result with her being pregnant and dumped like a dirty rag. Still, a rumor is after-all, a rumor. The last time which I saw her was during Army Half Marathon last year. She did put on weight. Hmm… I’m thinking…
I’d start taking solo calls yesterday. My TM Rebecca gave us a choice, to either go solo or do the buddy system. I though I I will gain more experience if I go solo, therefore, I opt for the former. Thankfully, the customers who called in are generally the polites one. And since I’m a guy, the chances of getting a ‘What is the color of the underwear you are wearing?’ is close to zero. I bet those sickos would just hang up upon hearing my voice. Haha…
Since we are ahead of schedule, the training programme is shorten by a week. Meaning, the afternoon shift week had been shifted up to next week. The benefit? An extra $10 to my salary per day. I seriously don’t mind doing the afternoon shift. Taxi far is claimable.
Stacy from the Sales through Service department came over to give a talk. As usual, during the intro and when asked why he was exempted from NS, Jason brushed us off with , “Medical Reason!” Like Duh? There’s a hundred and one ‘Medical Reasons’ out there. Why the secrecy? Since he wants it private, we respect his privacy by not probing further.
My pair of black shoes is giving way. Actually it’s my bro’s. Think I will have to get a new pair with my next pay. Thankfully, other than WL’s birthday, there’s no major happenings in April which requires me to spend alot.
M1 sent me a Direct Mailer, giving me 2 choices. Its either a) I get to enjoy $120 monthly rebate over the span of the next 24 month if I were to extend my contract with them for 2 more years, or b) $120 off if I choose to get a handset. Of course I choose b, coz that seems like the most sensible thing to do.
Ta dah!
I used the voucher on Sony Ericsson K810i.
When my Team Manager first heard that I’d received a $120 direct mailer, she got a shocked. Mainly because I’m not a high spending customer with M1. After which, Jia Yun, Julia, Natalie and Rebecca gave me very positive feedback that K800i is a very good handset, which won an award before. I fiddled around with the phone and immediately liked it.
Of course K800i had been in the market for like 2 and a half years to come already. I went down to the M1 shop and found that if I were to extend my contract, the handset would be $0. Not wanting to waste my $120 voucher, I opt for K810i instead. Actually the latest model in the K series is K850i, however it’s too expensive already.
A brief history of the handset which I’d used before, excluding those hand-down-to-me…
1) Nokia 3315
I had gotten this handset when I signed up with M1. I would later it in when I extend my contract.
2) Nokia 6610
Da Jie is a M1 staff then. This phone was bought using her staff voucher.
3) Samsung E600c
This is the first time which I bought a just released into the market phone. My brother was kind enough to give me $100 for it.
4) Nokia 7250i
Yao Long sold it to me. And I really wanted a camera phone with basic infra red function. Though Samsung E600c has infra red, it can’t seems to work. I later lost it in camp.
5) Nokia 1110i
Desperate for a non-camera handset, I bought this at a cheap pirce of $68. Despite being pure and simple, I loved it alot. Countless of times dropping it, and it didn’t failed me. Lost this when I went clubbing.
Went to Zouk with Eliza, Kenneth and Amos last Saturday night, 8th of March aka Bitch Day. Cuiling had already informed me that the entry fee be waived as Zoouk was named the Best Tourist Spot for the 2nd time (or something). Who can say no to free entry?
The disappointment? Entry to Phuture was denied real early. I managed to get my chop for Phuture Entry. What I thought would be a human-packed Phuture like Wednesday night, was in fact not so-crowded.
And Eliza was late. Worse! She lived nearby only. I’m already shaking my leg outside Zouk at 10 pm and when I called her at around 1020 pm to demand and explanation for her not turning up on time, she said, “I lived just a junction away only leh!”
Urghz! Still not seeing her even after like 15 mins later, I called her again. She told me that she’s on her way. I asked her on her way as in where, waiting for the lift? She admitted and gave me a girlish giggle. Kenneth arrived moments later. Followed by Amos.
…We had 6 jars of beer, as it’s going on a 1 for 1. After a few round of fingers guessing games, Kenneth went stone-d. Elzia had to bring him out for a fag. Even though he’s a non-smoker, Amos went out together with them. I’m the nobody’s child, left stranded, guarding the jars of beer.
After they are done with the fags, we continued with the games and finished the beer. I can’t remember which loony suggested going over to O bar. My memory sort of stopped there.
And the next morning, I was in my bed when I woke up.
Question: How did I got home?
Amos called me the following morning and said I suddenly disappeared.
Cuiling said the same thing too.
Oh!
My!
God!
I must control next time round…
Im actually going to MOS this Thursday as I have free passes. I mean, who can say No to free entry?
Went to watch that with Jia Yun and Nat after work in Causeway Point today. The nearest theater is actually at Jurong Entertainment Center. However the thought of watching a movie in a rundown theater sort of irk us. We settled with Causeway Point not only because it’s a Cathay but at the same time, it’s nearer to the gal’s home. We were joined by Jean and Jia Yun’s friend (forgot the name).
Thankfully, her friend helped us booked the tickets. By the time the shuttle bus from M1 reached CWP, it’s already 7 pm, and the show begins at 720pm. The thing about not watching in a Golden Village outlet is that, we don’t have the 15 mins advertisement which serve as an allowance if we were to be late.
In the end, after grabbing our dinner from Mcdonalds (we stuffed it inside our bag as outside food is strictly not allowed in there) and getting the popcorns from the candy bar, we missed the first 5 mins of the show. Darn it!
I enjoyed the show. I was practically nodding my head to the beat of the music the entire time.
You can imagine my delight when I heard my favorite music being played. I didn’t even know that it’s going to be featured in this show. 2~3 weeks ago, Vivian had already sent me the entire soundtrack. Take note! that’s way before the show is screen here. I wonder where she get her sources from… hmm…
I took my first call today. It was supposed to be a mock transfer over to me from my supervisor. Ended up, just as I logged into my account, a call came in. Before I even had the time to react, the customer on the other end had already said, “Hello!” I quickly got into my position, put on a smile and said, “Good Afternoon! Welcome to M1! This is Kee Lin speaking and how may I help you today?”
Phew! And my virgin call was a very polite customer. Heng!
It’s going to be lecture tml morning and answering of calls in the afternoon. Hopefully, the calls be as smooth as this one. Keeping my fingers very, very cross!
Went to the Seoul Garden in Bugis Junction for our Graduation Celebration. The initial plan was to catch Jessica Alba in The Eye, however Jason sort of backed out the last min. I’m not really keen for a buffet, because I don’t eat alot nowadays. Since everyone was like in for it, and it’s the last time that we would be eating in a group, I followed suit.
Halfway through the dinner, Zhi Hao called offering me a job. Sales Engineer. Starting pay is around what I’m drawing from M1 now. Location wise, remotely far! At Eunos. I really have to think about that.
Jia Yun left the table saying, ‘I’m getting more food’. I’m surprised to see her coming back with 2 plates full of veggies. I told her that it’s not Day 1 or Day 15 of the month accoording to the Lunar Calendar, therefore she need not go vegetarian. I also asked her whether she’s having constipation lately. She and the others went into convulsion.
Esther who’s sitting beside me started asking Jason whether would he helped his girlfirend to finish is food if she couldn’t down it all. Jason said he would. I was enjoying my Yam flavored ice-cream when at the corner of my eyes, I saw Esther looking dagger at me. I told her flatly that I won’t , instead I would asked her to finished it herself.
-_-” As usual, the rest went into convulsion (again).
It’s a shame that Mary Lou couldn’t join us. Else the whole group be there.
Urghz! I feel damn dumb. I should had signed up when it was still in the early bird stages. The initial dilemma was due to the fact that their website was too shabby and everything isn’t confirm. I went to take a look just now and the sight of the Running Singlet and Finisher Tee blew me off.
Just came back from Pat’s Mum funeral. She had passed away 2 days ago. It’s kinda traumatising for me in some sense. I mean, I’d just done with Eldest Uncle-In-Law funeral and just when I thought I could take a breather, a good friend’s mum passed on.
It’s just like last year. First it was WL’s Dad then days after, it’s 3rd Uncle. Just for the record, in less than 1 year, I’d already been to 5 funerals, 2 of which are family members. I do understand that the older you get, the people around you will start leaving. However, I seriously hope that for the next 3 years at least. all those whom I know will stay strong and healthy.
Finally, tomorrow is the last day. I’ll be bringing along the digital camera for a short cam-whoring session.
I’d signed up for Singapore Passion Run, 15km category. I’ll be getting a free Saucony running singlet and a Passion Membership card. Too bad Cuiling won’t be able to participate (shucks) as she will be having her exams around that time. However, I’d asked MY and MJ to sign up too. Finally! The 3 of us be doing a sport ‘event’ together.
MJ dont do Marathon but Biathlon.
MY dont do Biathlon but Marathon.
And I do both.
I was keeping my fingers cross when I jio-ed MJ. He told me that he has to study. After calling him a bitch, I informed him that the run is held on a Sunday.
Oher then the 2 of them, I’d also gotten Fay, Ying Qi and Fen to participate too. It was then I realised that the race date is in fact, on Fay’s birthday. All the more she should go
Sprint Distance Mens Open
00:18:54
00:31:16
00:50:09
My timing for the Biathlon. I need to improve on both my swimming and running. I’m planning to try OSIM Triathlon this July…
Next Tuesday is Graduation Day. The others had planned a Subway Dinner at the Whatsit Shopping Center beside Paya Lebar MRT Station, followed by a movie. I asked, “Oh! There’s a cinema there?” And Jason replied me, “No! We be going down town for movie after that!”
…What’s wrong with eating at the Subway Branch in town? Haha…
Nowadays, I call Eliza, ‘Ah Lian’. I suspect that she has a past, to which she firmly denied, ‘Don’t call me Ah Lian! I look like Ah Lianmeh?’
We were debating about the various category of customer class after lunch the other day. Jia Yun was questioning about how is it possible to earn that much of money from the foreign workers. And when she say foreign workers, she meant our Blangadeshi and China friends. Eliza pointed out to us that we should look at those standing at Geylang. I asked her why. She then told us ‘They are the one carrying branded bags, unlike us who are slogging!’
